Farmer Brown had ducks and cows. One day she noticed that the animals
had a total of 12 heads and 32 feet. How many of the animals were ducks
and how many were cows?
2. If you take a particular
two-digit number, reverse its digits to make a second two digit number,
and add these two numbers together, the sum will be 121. What is the
original number?
3. A new basketball league was formed
in which each of the teams will play three games against each of the
other teams. There are seven teams: the Antelopes, the Bears, the Cubs,
the Dusters, the Eagles, the Foxes, and the Goats. How many games will
be played in all? (Try drawing a diagram!!!)
4. Sam,
Mamie, Ralph and Gail are all skilled at the video game Alien Invaders.
Gail scores consistently higher than Ralph. Sam is better than all of
them, and Mamie is better than Ralph. Who is the better player, Gail or
Mamie?
